We're all Homies

Brr! It's so cold out today. I went wish a casual, edgy look today. I wore my crew neck from Reason, which is one of my favorite clothing brands, ever. This Homies hoodie is a play off Hermes. And it's absolute perfection if you want to be casual, yet still in style.

Favorite 2014 Grammy Looks

Hey Everyone! These are my favorite Grammy looks from last night.

Rita Ora:

I thought Rita's dress was one of the coolest at the show last night. I love how it was something different from the typical gown and I think she pulled it off great. I'm also in love with Rita's hair. It looked absolutely perfect last night. Her makeup was perfect too, she used purple to play up the green coloring of her dress and bring out her brown eyes. Her foundation is also matte which was a great choice since her dress was already so shimmery. So congrats to her makeup artist for coming up with that one.

 Katy Perry:

Katy's dress was beautiful, what else can I say? It was quirky yet mature. Her makeup, from what I saw, was just a simple cat eye with a light eyeshadow. My favorite part of her outfit was the hair. Her hair looked absolutely amazing. A lot of times I think women look weird when they do tight ballerina buns, but because her bun was so big I think it really balanced off. Just another all together stunning look.

 And my favorite, Taylor Swift:

WOW. Can we take a moment of silence for this look, please? Absolute perfection. This dress was my favorite of the night by far. It was simple, elegant, and extremely eye catching. When she walked into view of the camera my jaw literally dropped at this dress. Her simple pony tail was also perfect. But her makeup... Drop dead gorgeous. It's typical Taylor Swift, yet she's drawn away from the red lips recently and has been playing up her eyes. I noticed she had a metallic blue eyeliner on, which was different from what I was expecting. This silver/grey/blue look was perfect for this dress. I will definitely be recreating this look. I also need to know what highlight product Taylor was wearing last night...

Also this dress for her performance of all to well was stunning. It's very Grecian Goddess like.

Hope everyone has a lovely day! xx

Favorite Winter Lipsticks

Hey Everyone! Recently, I've been battling sub zero temperatures outside (as I'm sure many of you in the US have) and have been trying to find ways to amp up my makeup. The weather has definitely taken its toll on me but luckily there's always lipstick to make my makeup a bit brighter.

So without further adieu, grab of cup of tea and enjoy your read.

Favorite Winter Lipsticks of 2014:

Left to right:
Estee Lauer in 08 Plum Divine, Maybelline in Are You Red-Dy, Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me, Mac Heroine, NARS Funny Face, Mac Viva Glam V, Mac Media, Chanel Audace, Clinique Merlot

Swatches in Order with Flash:

My Favorites out of this groups are Heroine, Funny Face, and Media. I'm definitely into playing with colors at the moment. Heroine was a new find for me this year. I had seen a lot of makeup gurus talk about it and I decided to purchase it. It's become my favorite color of the winter right now. I've talked about it before but it's a very wearable color that any skin type can wear. Funny Face is also a very wearable color despite its bright pink color. It has metallic blue and purple reflections, which make it suitable for any skin color. Media is also a great color. The best way to describe it would be a purpley-red color that is almost brown. This lipstick is definitely the most difficult to wear in my opinion, as not everyone is a fan of the color.

I'm also loving using a classic red lipstick such as Audace and using the plum lipstick from Estee Lauder on top. Red lipsticks are a staple year round, but look especially stunning in the winter season. Especially if they are paired with a brown smokey eye.

Maybelline Baby Lips is also great, it looks very pale in this shot but it actually gives your lips a very natural red color. In my opinion it enhances your natural lip color without changing it. It's a great color to slip on when you're in a rush and just want to add some color to your lips. And the best part is, it's a lip balm. So if you're suffering from dry lips this is a great product for $3-4.

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday, stay warm!!

Silly Shots x

All I did for my makeup was use Urban Decay Liar and Mugshot on my lid, Maybelline Line Stiletto, and a Smashbox mascara. I used Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Porcelain and Cover Girl Powder.

And meet Lily. (She hates me.)

Saturday Antiquing

So today my friends and I decided to take a trip to the local antique store. I've always had a love for antique stores. My parents would constantly take me to flea-markets and antique stores every time we went on road trips. So I'm no stranger to them at all.

This specific antique store has a mini library in it. The oldest book we found today was from 1892. Talk about antique...

Here's a cute decorative idea, too. They had strung fairy lights across the top of a shelf and covered each light with a blue glass. Simple, easy and elegant
decorating at it's finest.

And here a mini collage of me perusing the rooms:

There was a really cool vintage, black beaded and collared shirt I found in the old clothing room. I love looking at all the old hats they have in there and trying them on. It's just inspiring to see fashion from decades ago come alive in one room. I'm also on the hunt for a black faux fur coat. (Gotta check all the antique/thrift stores I can find.)

I think my favorite things to look at are the old pictures, clothes and (of course) typewriters.

"...at midnight your wish will come true if you wish very hard. I promise."

Can we also talk about this dog?

Chubbiest dog I have ever seen but still so sweet. He reminded me of a teddy bear and I really wanted to take him home...

Here's a stool I may be slightly obsessed with.

I also found these pins for my future school. Gotta love the majoring in excitement one.

I also found this beautiful Union Jack desk. I just really love antiquing. I rarely go in looking for anything specific but I always come out either with something, or feeling more inspired. There's just something very enchanting being able to touch and hold things people used to treasure. Or to flip through all the old photograhs. The memories of so many people are left behind in such a subtle, yet magically haunting way. You can't help but wonder what the individual people were like. Especially with rings. Did someone give them the ring, has it been passed down for decades and now it's lost in this store? I just love being able to literally walk through the past.
